Of course we have Fetlife, and there are groups on Telegram… do we really need a WhatsApp group as well? Let me tell you why I think it’s a good idea.
To get one little thing out of the way: Telegram is not as secure as people think it is; in fact, it’s less secure than WhatsApp, Messenger, and especially Signal. Why? Because Telegram messages are stored on their company servers, and it’s much easier to decode them by brute force from there than to get access to your phone.
Why WhatsApp?

There are apps for every single one of the topics we cover, but people still prefer the personal experience they get with using their familiar messaging app.
So, is the group strictly necessary? No!
Is it useful? Yes, as a first introduction to BDSM for people who may not be as familiar and comfortable with BDSM as some of us…
Think of the group more like a munch.
We won’t publicise a lot of events there; only the ones that might be interesting for newcomers. But we also encourage conversation… whether anyone has questions about what BDSM really is, how S/M differs from D/S, whether it’s scary and or dangerous, their particular fetish is normal, etc, or if anyone wants to share their experience of a recent event.
WhatsApp groups are simple to use, approachable and lively. Let’s try it!
